Carmilla

Written 25 years before Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Carmilla is the first known Vampire novel. Marcalla Von Karnstein is a central character in Joseph-Sheridan LeFanu’s gothic tale.

A painting within a painting, it stands as an anomaly. Carmilla was Fini’s only published English language livre d’artiste (artist’s book). A series of eight paintings were used as the basis for the book’s silk-screen illustrations.
